Choosing the right teeth whitening vendor can be a challenge as there are a many vendors with varying levels of quality. Some beauty and health professionals believe that all cosmetic teeth whitening companies are the same and that all whitening gels are the same. Many of these same professionals are very particular and will only have organic products in their spa or salon but consider buying the cheapest gels and lights from someone advertising low prices on the internet.
The cosmetic teeth whitening process requires advanced chemicals that are applied to the teeth and gums and ingested. Why risk your customers’ health and safety using low grade teeth whitening products when you wouldn’t use poor quality products on their hair or skin? If quality, purity and your customers’ health are important, continue reading to learn more about how quality extends through every step of the XpresSmile system.
FDA Registered Laboratory
Quality is a commitment to excellence and the lab is where quality begins. XpresSmile’s laboratory is FDA registered and follows guidelines imposed on US dental manufacturers such as QS (Quality System) and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) which are the strictest in the industry. Not all cosmetic teeth whitening vendors use FDA registered labs because the registration process is expensive, time consuming and requires the lab to allow regular inspections and to follow strict processes.
Only the very best labs are FDA registered. FDA registration guarantees that XpresSmile products have the same quality, purity, consistency and strength as products used by your dentist. In fact, our lab is a supplier to leading dentists including dental schools like U.C.L.A.
Teeth Whitening Gels and Kits
Poorly made gels may have manufacturing impurities or inferior ingredients sourced on the secondary market. XpresSmile products are rigorously tested to confirm they do not contain common microbial contaminants. Every step of the manufacturing process is controlled to FDA standards to ensure all products meet the highest levels of purity.
In order to ensure consistent quality, water used for production is purified to USP standards using a top-of-the-line reverse osmosis system and ultraviolet sterilization. The lab uses jacketed stainless steel mixing and holding vessels as well as jacketed kettles, pumps and filters to ensure a consistent, repeatable process. The lab places a heavy emphasis on quality control at all stages of the manufacturing process. Chemical raw materials are approved for release by Quality Control prior to the transfer to the manufacturing area. Each product batch is inspected at least 4 times- in the mix tank, holding vessel, during packaging and before shipment to our customers.
The entire manufacturing floor has special yellow overhead lighting installed to protect the gels during production and ensure they don’t set or decompose prematurely.
Each batch is then oven tested at extreme temperatures over 3 days to ensure stability and consistency. The gel is then delivered in airtight applicators to ensure a long shelf life. Lab scientists evaluate the effectiveness on real subjects and thoroughly monitor and document their findings. This information is shared with the FDA as part of their ongoing lab inspections.
Finally, XpresSmile’s quality focus extends to the way it is shipped to our customers in special packaging to keep the gels cool and fresh from our facility to your business.

LED Acceleration Teeth Whitening Lights
Quality doesn’t stop at the gels but extends to the light as well because if your light is down, so are your teeth whitening profits. Here are some things to consider when choosing a quality light:
Power and Light Intensity
All Blue LED lights at the proper frequency will whiten teeth but some do a better job than others because of their power and light intensity. XpresSmile is one of the highest intensity cool blue lights as measured by candelas (800-1200 mW/cm2). That is 85% more intense than most other lights on market. You should be concerned if a teeth whitening vendor measures their light in Watts as this is a measure of incandescent lights not LED bulbs.*
Construction Quality
XpresSmile lights are designed and supported in the U.S.A. with additional quality control performed in the California plant. The X-brite light, with a 100,000 expected lifetime hours on the LED bulbs, upgraded premium paint and electrical finishes, is extremely robust.
In the unlikely event of a light failure, XpresSmile has you covered so your business won’t be down. Customer service technicians with deep technical knowledge are available to troubleshoot the problem and if the problem can’t be solved with a part, we’ll replace the light free of charge, including free shipping of the replacement and failed light.* XpresSmile also offers lifetime technical support so there is no need to buy an extended warranty. And parts are covered for two years!
With XpresSmile, you don’t have to wait for the sales person to get back to you and then wait even more while your light is repaired and shipped back to you. The extra cost in shipping and lost business is far more than the few dollars you save on a cheap light.
